And I'm going with all the old cliches lol
"It wasn't meant to be"
"As one door shuts another one opens"
But it stills hurts
And I will lick my wounds and move forward

... I do. Probably the same worldwide. It's hard to put away enough for rainy days. I'm pretty lucky because I'm in a well paid job nowadays but it wasn't long ago that this would have hit me hard. I'm also from a working class family on my mum's side and I can't bring myself to be wasteful.

Trauma and freezing and family response to trauma *trigger warning*
... for a coffee and a guy, possibly on drugs I don't know, rushed up to me and started shouting in my face. Inches at best away from my face. He wasn't speaking a language I understood. My sister later said it was French but I can speak French and I didn't understand. I just froze. Perhaps my ...

... don't believe in bootstrapping. I enjoyed the fruits of being part of the professional-managerial class (good salary, good pension) but finally I wasn't suited for it, as I learned during my unhappy final days in the business. In fact, I now despise that class (or at least certain members of it.) ...
